A-2 This is a RARE 10K gold ring made with a 5 to 6 carat perfect Moldevite green crystal. It has AVIV engraved within the band. The stone is perfect. Moldevite is a very rare tektite, a crystal from deep space the result of a meteorite impact on earth nearly 15 Million years ago. A VERY ancient stone. It contains the least amount of water, i.e. less than 0,02 % H2O, in comparison to all other terrestrial minerals.The Modavite impact crater in Ries near Stuttgart, Germany is 24 km in diameter, where the meteorite hit earth. But to find Moldevite you have to actually travel to the area of Southern Bohemia, Czech Republic. That is how far the material was thrown from the impact area in Germany. There are ONLY 60 -100 Moldavites that weigh more than 100 grams, while probably only 1-5 Moldavites exist that exceed 200 grams! The average weight of these strange 'vitreous drops' is only 8 grams, and they are not cheap to purchase. This ring has never been worn.
